Dice and dice games goes all the way back to the Middle Eastern Crusades, but modern craps is approximately 100 years old. Modern craps formed from the ancient Anglo game referred to as Hazard. No one absolutely knows the birth of the game, however Hazard is believed to have been discovered by the Englishman, Sir William of Tyre, in the twelfth century. It is supposed that Sir William’s paladins gambled on Hazard amid a siege on the castle Hazarth in 1125 AD. The title Hazard was gotten from the fortification’s name.

Early French colonists imported the game Hazard to Acadia. In the 18th century, when banished by the English, the French relocated south and settled in the south of Louisiana where they after a while became Cajuns. When they fled Acadia, they brought their favorite game, Hazard, with them. The Cajuns simplified the game and made it mathematically fair.
